Week #4 Thing #8

I have been looking at RSS feeds this week for my lesson. The trick here is getting them to post here on my blog. I want to be sure I have ya/children's lit and library feeds before I just post. So.....more research to be done before I move on to Thing #9.

week #3 Thing 7

As I continue on this blogging journey, I have been looking at other pages and blogs. I am impressed at what people do. I would love to have the tech knowledge to add all these kewl things to my blog. I keep playing and learning. It will be nice to look back at how simple things were and how much I plan to improve.

Week #3 Thing #6

I went to FD Toys http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/ to choose a mashup to use. At this site I tried first a magazine cover. I look forward to trying this with a LS class that is doing Author Research. They will be researching facts about their author. They can place the facts in the lines and a photo of the author in the background. I will be looking at the trading cards and see many uses for this. To the right is a trading card I made for a book idea. I plan to try this and use them as shelftalkers. Instead of so many books, so little time.... So much to blog.... not enough time.

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

Week #3 Thing #5

I choose part B of the Discovery Exercise for Week 3. I have heard of Flickr but never logged on to use it. It was very easy to set up my profile. I decided to stick with LadyBookSpartan. I plan to download the tools on my laptop so it is faster to upload and download images. The images I uploaded were from an author visit in November. The author that was here was Robyn Rolison-Hana. She is a local author that wrote the book Mink. She was an excellent speaker for the middle school age. The kids loved her presentation!http://www.flickr.com/photos/ladybookspartan/

Week #2

After finally returning to my web 2.0 class. I went back and relearned all that I did the first week. I logged back on to my blogspot, created my profile, and my avatar. I can see how you can loose sight of the time. There were way too many choices for the avatar. After looking at all the options..... or some of them.... I am happy with my background, clothing, skin, hair, eyes and extras. THE FUN HAS BEGUN.

Week #1

Well I am finally off and blogging. I recently had the opportunity to hav Mr. Brad Fisch speak to the other member of the Library Department. He spoke about today's digital natives and I do not want to be behind the time by still having a 1.0 Library....... so here I go! Ready! Excited and POSTING.
